As times change in Head Start, effective Head Start governing bodies provide direction to guide organizations. Understanding the structure of program governance will ensure a strong Head Start program that will function as mandated in the Act. Knowing the decision making process within programs will prevent any unnecessary internal conflict and/or legal issues in the future. Participants will learn strategies to support program governance and ensure program systems are appropriate.
