In accordance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards, Part 1301: Program Governance, Section 1301.3 requires each agency must establish and maintain a policy council responsible for the direction of the Head Start program at the agency level. This training will look at the composition, duties and responsibilities, term and reimbursement for policy council members.
OBJECTIVES:
- Understand federal regulations requiring the establishment of the policy council
- Resources to attract and get parents engaged and appointed to be a member of the policy council
- Ability to support the policy council in their duties and responsibility with information sharing and guidance
