We at The Gravely Group strive to strengthen and build on the Head Start principles to ensure that agencies have educated staff and a board and management team that understands the guidance that governs sustainability and meeting funding requirements. The Gravely Group is available to provide specialized trainings you may also deem necessary to expand on your education and knowledge development as it relates to meeting your program goals.

Head Start Requirements for Training Staff and Volunteers

In accordance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards, Section 1302.92 Training and professional development, agencies are required: (a) A program must provide to all new staff, consultants, and volunteers an orientation that focuses on, at a minimum, the goals and underlying philosophy of the program and on the ways they are implemented and (b) A program must establish and implement a systematic approach to staff training and professional development designed to assist staff in acquiring or increasing the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality, comprehensive services within the scope of their job responsibilities, and attached to academic credit as appropriate. You will find that our trainings will meet these requirements along with the new changes under the revised Head Start Program Performance Standards released in August 2024.

Onsite and Virtual Training Events

The Gravely Group’s vast menu of training and consulting opportunities addresses programmatic expectations outlined in the Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, and the Code of Federal Regulations. Moreover, our consultants have monitored and analyzed hundreds of programs nationwide, amassing comprehensive knowledge about exceptional service delivery models, strong monitoring and analysis systems, and common progress pitfalls. This advanced knowledge promotes an informed set of training and consulting opportunities that strengthen the performance of leadership teams, staffing teams, policy councils, governing bodies, and parent committees. The Gravely Group’s clientele receives strategically informed, interactive in-person or virtual learning experiences that include roadmaps for change and planning tools for immediate implementation.

Virtual Trainings: How it Works

The Gravely Group’s virtual trainings are quoted in a two-tier format for virtual training based on a closed or open session approach:

Closed session is tailored to your agency only and will not allow outside participants. (A closed session fee will apply).
Open session will permit other head start participants from outside the agency to register for the training.

You can select trainings as closed, open or a combination based on your specific training needs. Final quote will be provided once training format has been confirmed.

The rates cover all expenses necessary to ensure interactive, effective, and efficient training for agency management, staff and policy council, and all training materials (i.e.: handouts, reference materials, etc.). Cost covers one webinar for entire staff of agency participating regardless of individually or group setting. Each participant will register and receive log-in credentials. Upon completion of training, each participant will receive a training certificate.
